Another reminder of how small this world is....

So,

On Sunday Morning, I arise fast and sudden to the vibrating of my cell phone - expecting both a an alarm and a phone call that morning, I should not have been that surprised but I did not realize what I had already got myself into. It was 5:15am and I answer with a muffled "yo", and I hear something about "being downstairs". The journey begins - but I just flew home to San Diego from Las Vegas the day before, and I had been up til 1:30am trying to fall asleep but after countless nights of being up til 3am- its pretty hard.

Having refound a love for the ocean again after some long lost time without it, (somewhere under florescent lighting) we head down to one of my favorite reef breaks in La Jolla. It was too low tide when we first got there, but after killing some time we paddled out for some fun 2-3 ft with an inconsistent 4 ft every 30 mins or so. It was a weekend morning and we knew it would probably be packed soon. After 2 waves there were already, 4 more heads coming out to the peak.

After 3 or 4 waves, I get cut off on a really nice left. I am pissed but do not let it drag me down. So as I am changing I see the car behind ours has a NFL alumni sticker so I inquire if they played for the Chargers. The large gentleman tells me, that he actually played for the Raiders, which made me gringe and I made a joke about not having anything else to say. He is friendly and asks if we surf a lot, he tells us that his kids both surf professionally.

Not he has my attention, I wonder if I know his sons- but there are alot of brothers in surfing.
We ask who - and he answers with Benji Weatherly, sure, we might have heard his name from the "Ride Through" series on Fuel TV. I ask what his name is, he tells me Jim Weatherly and that he does alot of fundraising or works with organizations for kids and does events like - surfing, poker, bocce ball, and all kinds of tournaments. I think his card mentioned something about "Caring for Kids".

I tell him that my friend Duke plays football for Buffalo Bills as a lineman. Jim seems interested and asks me what position, I tell him Center/Guard and Long snap - and that is exactly what Jim did for the Raiders. Just a crazy reminder of how small this world is.

Brent Miller's Doom Factor

Is the world coming to an end?

Sort of depressing topic, but it can means volumes to your life in the coming years.

Since it is something I have taken an interest in before, I watched all of this video. The premise of the video is that Brent Miller is taking "newly discovered scientific evidence showing that the world as we know it is about to come to an unexpected end" and putting his views forward by speaking with well versed and highly educated scientists. I do not think that the video is too "Armageddon", but I did not agree with using the bible along with scientific evidence.

I have read some and watched multiple videos dealing with Mayan Calendars and "the end of the long count". I am not big on the whole Doomsday myth of December 12, 2012, but I do live in the moment.

Alot of this has helped me live, love and try to be free. Why would I waste my valuable time on this earth doing something I did not want to?

Thanks to a recent song add on a friends myspace, I found out that Millencolin from Sweden have a new album coming out. My friends and I have been long time Millen fans and went to their shows every year when they came through San Diego.

Thanks also to annnaklara who has some of the new videos.

Here's a couple.

I also found the official new video and a couple of others that I thought I would share.

Sorry for the duplicate but this one has cool pics.
